The American Latin pop duet Ha*Ash was created in 2002 by sisters Ashley Grace (born 1987) and Hanna Nicole (born 1985) of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The name of the group is a combination of their first names. The most recent of their six studio albums, Haashtag, came out in 2022. Between 2014 and 2017, every single one of theirs was certified gold or higher by the Mexican Association of Phonogram and Videogram Producers. They made history when their Spanish ballad became the first by any group to reach one billion views on YouTube.[4]

Ha*Ash draws from a wide range of musical inspirations, including Latin pop, country pop, pop rock, and singer-songwriter styles. The band has included Shania Twain, Loretta Lynn, and The Chicks as its musical heroes. Philanthropy and social activism, particularly their efforts to help children, are other areas in which they are well-known. Fondo Ha*Ash, a nonprofit established by Ha*Ash in 2007, provides aid to a variety of issues, including immigrant families and children afflicted with HIV/AIDS.

Antonio and Mathilda Pérez (née Mosa) have two children, Hanna and Ashley, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA.[6] Their Mexican papa and German and Spanish grandmothers are related. Lake Charles had been home to the family for many years.[7]

Their artistic leanings date back to their childhood, and music has always been their primary form of expression. At the tender ages of five and four, they made their church debut at DeQuincy’s Pine Grove Baptist Church.They started taking music lessons and practicing regularly at the age of 9, and by the time they were 12, they were performing at fairs, rodeos, and even the Louisiana State Penitentiary as part of their daily routine.the biggest American state jail [11]. While their father was working abroad, Hanna and Ashley split their time between Mexico City and Lake Charles, spending six months of the year in each city. From an early age, they were taught Spanish by their father and grandfather, who had studied at a modern American school in Mexico.

Ha*Ash have been vague about their personal life, however they have spoken about their parents’ divorce. They claimed that their parents split up in early 2005, while the sisters were making their second album, Mundos Opuestos.in [13] Lyrics like “Sé Que Te Vas” and “Todo No Fue Suficiente” touched on this area.[14] Not only are the sisters Mexican and American citizens, but they are also fluent in English and Spanish.[15][16] Houston, Texas is where they both call home.[17]

At the ages of sixteen and fifteen, respectively, the sisters signed with Sony Music Latin in April 2002 and began performing as the moniker Ha*Ash. They also inked a management contract with Seitrack Management (formerly OCESA Seitrack) that year.[24] A smash at Mexican festivals, radio stations, and television, their debut single “Odio Amarte” came out in April 2002.[25] The They collaborated with the Mexican producer Áureo Baqueiro to record their self-titled first album Ha*Ash.[24] Following its release on May 11, 2003, the album reached No. 3 in Mexico and No. 19 in the United States on the Billboard Latin Pop Albums list.[26]
