“Mr. Weinstein was rushed to Bellevue Hospital last night due to numerous medical symptoms,” his agents said in a statement that was acquired by the network. It was stated that they “confirmed a heart procedure and surgery” after Mr. Weinstein experienced chest pains over the weekend.
While awaiting a retrial in November on charges of rape and sexual assault, his attorneys stated that their client, who is 72 years old, suffers from “a multitude of significant health issues that require medical attention.” These health issues include diabetes, high blood pressure, and spinal stenosis. His attorneys also stated that their client is currently incarcerated in the Rikers Island jail in New York.
